who is outgoing ?
Outgoing is the cross-disciplinary studio founded by artists Brett Gui Xin and Del Hoyle. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the studio at large operates across many forms of art, design and music making. Their focus is toward the physical. They make things to live with, experiences to be a part of; in person, tangible, intimate, curious and finely crafted by their hands.
Outgoing produces furniture, objects, sculpture, hardware and lighting alongside their regular forays into music, video, jewelry and exhibitions. Their work is characterized by a graphic use of color, attention to detail and an inventiveness to form and function. Across all mediums Outgoing imbue their output with an energy all of their own. The objects, the sounds, the videos, the exhibitions, it all feels alive, animated, vital, conscious even.
This sense of life is important, it is an essence of a freedom, things to engage, encourage and coexist with.
